Welcome To Garic's Bourbon Street Bakery! PDF Print E-mail

Welcome to Garic's Bourbon Street Bakery where our roots in the baking industry date all the way back to 1895 when my great-grandfather, Samuel Garic, and his brother, John Garic, founded Garic's Bakery. The bakery was located at 929 Decatur St. across from the French Market, in the world famous New Orleans French Quarter.  The bakery supplied bread and other baked goods to ships docked in the Port of New Orleans and was also well known for its wonderful wedding cakes and other delectable goodies. My father, Roland Garic Toca, Sr. worked in the family bakery with his uncles and has thankfully passed his baking talents on to me, René Garic Toca, a fourth generation descendent of the Garic baking dynasty. Now I am happy to share our cakes with you.

Today, we are proud to carry on a 115-year-old family tradition by bringing to you our unique old family recipe for a southern rum cake like no other. Others may claim that their cakes are the best, but we guarantee - once you taste ours you will agree that our old fashioned Southern rum cakes are unmatched! Like we say down south, "it taste so good you'll want to slap yo' mama!"  Try one  yourself or send one to relatives, friends, or clients... you will all be fans for life! Just like Justin Wilson always said, "I gawr-on-tee."
